Part of the goal of this blog is to generate stories, photos and video content about Liberia and the Liberian experience. So whenever I see work about Liberia in the media I will try to highlight it here to share it with everyone. One piece I couldn’t let pass me by is a photo and audio essay by Tim Hetherington, a British photojournalist, published today in The New York Times. Hetherington photographed Liberia during its 14-year civil war and now has a book of his work being published by Umbrage. In fact if any of you will be in New York City this Thursday June 4 you can attend Hetherington’s book launch at 111 Front Street in Brooklyn from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Check out his photo essay here: http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/02/showcase-2/

Thanks Brother, that’s a nice photo, remembering me of our natural rain forest.
